New
Users / Windows / Internet SIG:
SIG Leaders: Graham Paul
Phone: see newsletter, to RSVP
Meeting Place: Jackson Senior Center, Room 3
When:
4th Wednesday
Time:
2:00 PMThe New Users Special Interest Group,
[or SIG] is set up for those who have nagging questions about
basic computer concepts, hardware and/or software problems of a basic
nature. The way the group works is: members come armed with their
questions and we answer them, or attempt to, at the meeting. There is
no requirement to be in the least knowledgeable about computers, nor
is there a limit as to how much knowledge you have. Please call ahead
to let the leaders know how many are coming. If no calls are received, a meeting
will not be held. Everyone is welcome, so please come along!
Do you know how to "surf the net", use a search engine, download images or other information, are you familiar with your "browser"? Are you familiar with news groups or chat groups and list servers? Do you know how to zip and unzip files? Come and find out! At these meetings we will share information about all the interesting things that happen when you go "on-line". Share your favorite Websites and other gems you have found on the Net. Bring your
questions! (The New Users SIG has merged with the Internet SIG)
The New Users SIG is currently meeting in conjunction with the Windows
and Internet SIGs. The first hour will be set aside for new users and Windows
questions, and the second hour will be set aside for Internet
questions.
