July 2007 General Meeting:
Our General Meeting on Tuesday, July
3rd, featured our "Fourth of July Pizza Fundraiser and
Celebration". Members came out and supported their club while helping
to fund a
new VISTA laptop computer and new software for demonstrations.
Participants gave the
cook the night
off, and let ACUG volunteers take care of their dinner. We had a delicious hot
pizza dinner with the friendly folks at ACUG, and then enjoyed the fireworks
in Jackson from the SC or at home on TV!
The club supplied cups, plates and napkins. Pizza slices:
suggested donation $2, soft drinks will also be available.
With your help, we can continue to serve as a non-profit
corporation benefiting the local community.
In
addition to the great meal, we featured an overview presentation
of “Norton AntiVirus 2007” presented by Richard
Kennon. Security for computing
has never been more important. Today, the computer user faces
threats that are international in scope. See how Symantec’s Norton AntiVirus 2007 works to protect you against online threats.
About the Presenter:
Richard Kennon is Secretary and member of the Board for the
Amador Computer Users Group. He has also volunteered time for the
AARP in their tax assistance program.
