January 2008
General Meeting:
Please note that our
General Meeting was held on Friday, January 4th at 7 PM due to
the New Years Day Holiday. The meeting featured our
new "ACUG Computer Classroom", a great time to discuss any computer related problems
you may have with your fellow members. Everyone has either a
question
or a tip to share and it is a great way to make new friends and help
out your fellow club members at the same time.
Also, the club
celebrated our 14th
Annual Election Night, the 14th Annual Installation of Officers,
and the
10th Annual Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony.
Members
brought their appetites! January Goodies
are an ACUG tradition. At the meeting, members
should bring their
favorite desserts and a great imagination to share
with their fellow computer users.

There were prizes awarded for the best
computer-themed desserts!
(The dessert must have a computer theme to be entered into the
contest. The winners will be chosen by the entire group).
Winners were: Frank Blauvelt, First Place certificate, decorative
jar and candy. Richard Kennon, Second Place certificate, decorative
jar and candy. Sherre Tassos, Third Place certificate, decorative
jar and candy.
Everyone took the time to visit, meet new
members, and make new friends. The club provides soft drinks and
coffee, paper plates, napkins, utensils and cups.
It will be a relaxing and fun evening!
14th Annual Elections:
We held elections for office at the January meeting. Members
will choose who they would like to represent them on the ACUG
Board of Directors. This is your
last chance to nominate or write in someone you think will be an
asset to the Board this year. However, if you would like to help in some
capacity, you can volunteer your services to the club anytime!
Ballots will be handed out to ACUG members. One ballot is voted per
family membership of those present. Thank you all for participating and making the
Amador Computer Users Group the great and award-winning club that it is!
14th Annual Installation of
Officers:
The winning candidates were installed as your new officers of
the club. Photographs
will be taken of the new officers, chairs, committee members and the
group in general for the Newsletter, the Webpage and the local
newspapers at the end of the meeting. Please see the Board pages for
the new list of Officers after the election.
The Amador Computer Users Group is very pleased to announce our
10th Annual
Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony to thank the individual
volunteer members who work long and hard hours to make sure that the
club runs smoothly and efficiently. We would like to thank our
volunteers for doing a great job. We also
would like to thank local businesses who have contributed significantly to the
club. Hat's off to you! Club members, thanks in advance for coming out and lending your support by applauding our dedicated and caring volunteers!
This is your chance to show that you really appreciate their efforts! Thank you everyone!
"On behalf of the entire Amador Computer Users Group, I would like
to wish you all a very
Happy
New
Year!"
-- Barbara Kreiss, ACUG Webmaster.
