About ACUG:
Welcome to the Amador Computer Users Group. ACUG, a
non-profit organization founded in December of 1994, is dedicated to
helping members of the community learn more about computers and
software.
ACUG is a member in good standing
of the Association of PC User Groups, [APCUG] an organization whose
member clubs are world-wide.
The Amador Computer Users Group is community service
oriented. Members have donated hardware, software and time to
local schools, the Amador County Library, the Hospice of Amador, and
community members who needed individual help. ACUG is
very proud to have won 5 prestigious "Jerry Awards"
presented by the APCUG at Fall Comdex 1998, 2000, 2002, at the
January Consumer Electronics Shows, 2004 and 2006 for outstanding community
service. See Community Service
ACUG's General Meetings are FREE and open to the general
public. Programs feature overview presentations of software or
hardware, often by vendors of major corporations like Microsoft and
Corel, and audience members are encouraged to ask questions. Our
library sells pre-owned software and hardware, and copies of
software such as shareware, freeware, demo and trial versions.
Members have access to a Lending Library that includes books and
videos. Refreshments are served and a public raffle is held for
some terrific prizes.
In addition, Special Interest Groups, or SIGs meet at
different times throughout the month and are used for answering
individual questions.
