For those of you who are browsing these pages and have never attended one of our
meetings, please feel free to come out and join us at our General Meeting.
The General Meeting is held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Senior Citizen
Center: 229 New York Ranch Road, Jackson CA.
See Map.
You are also welcome to try any of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) listed on the previous
page. Bring along a friend or two!
The public is always welcome to attend our meetings FREE of charge!
For those
members who have missed past presentations, there may still be a few packets with trial
versions of software, handouts, flyers and other goodies left. Ask at the
membership table. Please, one packet or hand-out per
membership, and it's first come, first served. Remember, help your hard-working
officers and volunteers, wear your badge!
Also, please enter by the front door, that way you won't miss anything being handed out.
The public is always
welcome to attend!
General Meetings feature
ACUG's Computer Classroom and occasionally are
showcases for new products or important subjects of broad interest to the entire
computing community. Attend these meetings to ask questions and learn about how
your computer and software works. Get a good feel for what a product
is like before you buy it. Refreshments are served, the atmosphere is friendly, and
you'll have a chance to participate in a raffle for great prizes!
Special Interest Group [SIG]
Meetings are smaller, more intimate groups where you can learn more about
the group's focus subject or bring a specific problem you are having with that
subject, and get in depth help from the members. Be sure to bring a notebook and
take notes! Questions are welcome! See Meetings index at left for links to the
available SIGs, and the Meeting Calendar below for more detailed information.
The ACUG Library will be open for business as usual at 6:45 PM,
and may have software and other items for sale. Raffle tickets can be purchased there.
New members can pick up their badges and membership cards at the membership table.
Freebies such as discount coupons to the Computer Show and Sale in Sacramento, catalogs,
magazines, etc. are sometimes available. Money from the sale of software and other items
supports ACUG's General Fund which pays room rental, buys and updates
presentation equipment, purchases raffle prizes, supports ACUG's community
service efforts and benefits all Club members. Thanks for your support!
Adding to the enjoyment of the evening, we will hold our usual raffle with
at least three interesting items generously donated by vendors, our own members or
purchased by the club.
We have raffled off thousands of dollars worth of software, hardware,
t-shirts, accessories and other items, during the nearly 14 years we have been holding this
event, for everyone's enjoyment.
Tickets are available for $1.00 each, or 10 for $5.00. These raffles help support the
club's
community service efforts, and general operating fund, and enable us to remain a
non-profit 501[c]7 corporation benefiting the local community. Remember, raffles are open
to all who attend the meeting, so next time invite your friends! The raffles are
generally held at the end of the meeting, but an item may be raffled on the break.
You
must be present to win! Our lucky raffle winners also have their names posted to our
Website, and published in our newsletter, Bytes and Bits! ACUG would like to thank
everyone who participates, for their support!
