December 2009 General Meeting:

Our General Meeting on Tuesday, December 1st, featured: "ACUG's Computer Classroom". The meeting is held as a round table discussion that includes special presentations.

Bring your questions and computer problems to the meetings, and let the group help you with suggestions and solutions. The atmosphere is friendly and suited to both beginners, intermediate and expert users.

Our Featured Presentations:

"Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner" Microsoft's scanner checks your computer for and helps remove viruses, spyware, and other malicious software, automatically checks your hard disk for any unnecessary files and gives you the option to delete them, checks your hard disk for its level of fragmentation, and if it's more than 10% fragmented, asks if you'd like to defragment the drive.

"Members Favorite Internet Sites". ACUG  members will share their best and favorite sites in an overview of the top sites of the World Wide Web. Have a favorite? Share it with us! Here are a couple that will be discussed:

"Ooma: a web based Internet Telephone Service" what is Ooma and will it save you money?

"Microsoft's World Wide Telescope" see the planets, stars, galaxies and other deep space objects without leaving your house or buying a telescope.

"BYOD". Bring Your Own Dessert to munch on as the discussion moves to what the future holds for the Amador Computer Users Group. The club will supply Decaf coffee. Board members will outline their thoughts for the coming New Year and ask you to vote on what direction ACUG should follow for 2010. Be a part of the discussion, let us know your thoughts, help shape the future of the club. We need you!

Our Christmas show is always a popular meeting. You can be sure the evening will be interesting and fun. Always come early for best seating, parking is available at the front and rear of the Senior Center. Overflow parking can also be found up the street. Refreshments are provided.

Attention ACUG members: We will hold elections for office at the January meeting. It is time to nominate who you would like to represent you on the ACUG Board of Directors! Nomination sheets will be available at the Membership table. Want to help us? We need YOU! Please nominate yourself!
