General
Meeting
on Tuesday, December 1st, featured: "ACUG's Computer
Classroom". The meeting is held as a round table discussion
that includes special presentations.
Bring your questions and computer
problems to the meetings, and let the group help you with
suggestions and solutions. The atmosphere is friendly and suited to
both beginners, intermediate and expert users.
Our Featured
Presentations:

"Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner"
Microsoft's scanner checks your computer for and helps remove viruses, spyware,
and other malicious software, automatically checks your hard disk for any unnecessary files
and gives you the option to delete them, checks your hard disk for its level of fragmentation,
and if it's more than 10% fragmented, asks if you'd like to defragment
the drive.
"Members Favorite Internet Sites".
ACUG members will share their best and favorite sites in an overview of the
top sites of the World Wide Web. Have a favorite? Share it with us!
Here are a couple that will be discussed:
"Ooma: a web based Internet
Telephone Service" what is Ooma and will it save you money?
"Microsoft's World Wide
Telescope" see the planets, stars, galaxies and other deep
space objects without leaving your house or buying a telescope.
"BYOD".
Bring Your Own Dessert to munch on as the discussion moves to what
the future holds for the Amador Computer Users Group. The club will
supply Decaf coffee. Board members
will outline their thoughts for the coming New Year and ask you to
vote on what direction ACUG should follow for 2010. Be a part of the
discussion, let us know your thoughts, help shape the future of the
club. We need you!
Our
Christmas show is always a popular meeting. You can be sure the
evening will be interesting and fun. Always come early for best seating, parking
is available at the
front and rear of the Senior Center. Overflow parking can also be
found up the street. Refreshments are provided.
Attention
ACUG members: We will hold elections for office at the January meeting.
It is time to nominate who you would like to represent you on the ACUG Board of
Directors! Nomination sheets will be available at the Membership
table. Want to help us? We need YOU! Please nominate yourself!
To add
to your enjoyment, we held our usual Mystery Raffle at
the end of the meeting to help fund ACUG's community
service efforts. Our Mystery Raffle prizes are announced during the
meeting. Prize winners are drawn at the end of the meeting, and you
must be present to win.
You won't want to miss this exciting opportunity for some great
prizes, while enjoying an evening of friendly conversation aimed at
helping you both use & choose software and hardware. Learn to
get more out of your computer! ACUG has raffled some great items,
don't miss it! Tickets are $1 each or 10 for $5.

two at the Jackson Rancheria Raging River Restaurant,
generously donated by the Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel
on New York Ranch Road. Take someone to a great All You Can Eat
Buffet dinner (not to exceed $50) for the cost of a raffle ticket!
