Steve Gibson's "Shields Up" - test your machine for hacker vulnerabilities, no cost, good informational site that is much quoted by the industry. However, this site failed to detect an open port 80 on our network.

Symantec Security Check - Free Symantec Security Check. Test for viruses, test your firewall. The firewall test passed with flying colors in that it did correctly detect our open port 80.

Zone Alarm - firewall protection against Internet thieves, vandals and crackers. Free for personal or non-profit use. 

Avast - free anti-virus for home users and non-commercial use with the Home Edition. Supposedly works with Virtual Machines. Institutions including non-profits may not use this version.

AVG - Grisoft offers AVG anti-virus, AVG Anti-Spyware, AVG Anti-Rootkit free editions for home and non-commercial use. Supposedly anti-virus works with Virtual Machines. Use for organizations or commercial purposes is prohibited.
